Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons favorite BBQ sauce
  • 12 chicken tenderloins
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt and black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs*
  • 1/2 cup seasoned panko
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder
  • olive oil spray
  • olive oil spray

Equipment Needed

  • Air Fryer

Instructions

  1. 1

In a small bowl, mix the BBQ sauce with 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of water to achieve a thinner consistency.

  2. 2

Season the chicken pieces with salt, garlic powder, and a pinch of black pepper (1/8 teaspoon).

  3. 3

In a medium-sized bowl, beat together the egg and egg white. In another shallow bowl, blend the bread crumbs, panko, and cayenne pepper.

  4. 4

Take each piece of chicken and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring it is well-coated, then transfer it to the breadcrumb blend, shaking off any excess. Arrange the coated chicken on a large plate or cutting board. Generously spray both sides with cooking oil.

  5. 5

Cook the chicken in batches in the air fryer at 400°F for 5 to 6 minutes per side, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is fully cooked and the exterior is crispy and golden. Brush or drizzle the chicken with the prepared BBQ sauce until evenly coated. Serve immediately for the best flavor.
