Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 4 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 3 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt such as Lawry’s
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. 1

Rub the chicken with seasoning salt and garlic powder. Wrap it up and let it rest in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour, or up to overnight for deeper flavor.

  2. 2

In a separate small bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, mustard, and approximately 2 tablespoons of water to achieve a thinner consistency.

  3. 3

Get your outdoor grill heated to a medium temperature.

  4. 4

Apply oil to the grill grates and then lower the heat to a low setting. Place the chicken on the grill, covering it while cooking and turning it frequently to prevent burning, until the chicken reaches a golden brown color and is fully cooked in the center, which should take about 18 to 20 minutes.

  5. 5

Generously brush the BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken and continue grilling, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking and avoiding burning, for an additional 2 minutes until nicely caramelized.
