Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • olive oil spray
  • 4 pieces fresh skinned white fish fillets
  • 3 cups cooked wild rice or brown rice
  • lime wedges
  • 1/4 cup reduced fat sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped dill pickles plus 1 tablespoon pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill
  • 1 teaspoon fresh key lime juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Equipment Needed

  • Air Fryer

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix together the ingredients for the tartar sauce and allow it to chill in the refrigerator until you're ready to plate the meal.

  2. 2

In a small mixing bowl, combine the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper, stirring well to ensure everything is evenly incorporated.

  3. 3

Lightly mist both sides of the fish with oil, ensuring an even coating.

  4. 4

Generously apply the spice blend to both sides of the fish, ensuring it is thoroughly covered.

  5. 5

Lightly coat the air fryer basket with oil. In batches, arrange the fish in a single layer within the basket and cook at 400°F until the fish is easily flaked with a fork, approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Flip the fish halfway through the cooking time, adjusting based on the thickness of the fillets.

  6. 6

Broil the fish approximately 6 inches from the heat source for 4 to 5 minutes, without the need to turn it.

  7. 7

On each plate, serve 3/4 cup of rice alongside one piece of fish, and divide the tartar sauce into four small bowls. Garnish with lime wedges.
