Place a large pot on the stove and set the heat to medium.
Pour in the oil, followed by 1 cup of chopped scallions and minced garlic. Cook for approximately 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until they become tender. Then, add the diced tomatoes and continue to sauté for an additional minute until they soften.
Incorporate the chicken stock, cumin, and chili powder into the pot, then bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
In four serving bowls, distribute 1/2 cup of shredded chicken and 1/2 avocado into each. Top with the remaining scallions and a sprinkle of cilantro. Pour 1 cup of the chicken broth over the ingredients in each bowl and serve with a wedge of lime on the side.
