Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 plus 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Kosher Salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Sprinkle the shrimp with cumin, along with salt and pepper according to your preference.

    Place a large nonstick skillet on the stove and heat it over medium-high warmth.

    Pour 1 teaspoon of oil into the skillet, then add half of the shrimp. Allow them to cook without stirring for approximately 2 minutes. Flip the shrimp over and continue cooking until they are fully opaque, around 1 minute. Once done, transfer them to a plate.

    Add the remaining teaspoon of oil and the rest of the shrimp to the skillet. Cook them without disturbance for about 2 minutes. Afterward, flip the shrimp, toss in the garlic, and cook until the shrimp turns opaque throughout, which should take about 1 minute.

    Return the first batch of shrimp to the skillet, ensuring to mix everything thoroughly so that the garlic is well distributed, then remove the skillet from the heat.

    Drizzle the lime juice over the shrimp mixture. Incorporate the cilantro, tossing everything together well, and serve immediately.
