Coat the chicken with adobo seasoning (or taco spice blend), then transfer it to the slow cooker. Add salsa, garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of cumin on top.
Secure the lid and cook on the LOW setting for 4 hours. After cooking time is complete, take out the chicken and place it on a large dish; shred it using two forks. Strain the cooking liquid into a bowl and set aside, then return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, adjusting the salt to your preference and incorporating the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of cumin.
Reintroduce 3/4 cup of the reserved liquid back into the slow cooker and cover until you’re ready to serve.
