In a medium microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate in 45-second bursts, stirring after each interval until fully melted. Allow it to cool for a few minutes afterward.
To the melted chocolate, incorporate the pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, one whole egg, and maple syrup. Stir until the mixture is thoroughly combined.
In a different bowl, use a hand mixer to whip the egg whites until soft peaks begin to form.
