Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot. Position the pumpkin on the rack and cook at high pressure for 13 to 15 minutes. Perform a quick release and allow it to cool down.
Extract the flesh and transfer it to a bowl, then blend using a blender or an immersion blender until smooth.
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice the pumpkin into quarters and arrange them in a baking dish. Roast for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the pumpkin becomes tender when tested with a fork.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool.
Scoop the flesh into a bowl and puree it using a blender or an immersion blender.
