In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and season it with salt. Cook while breaking it apart with a spoon until it turns brown and is no longer pink; then transfer it to the slow cooker.
In the same skillet, pour in the oil and sauté the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper over medium heat for approximately 4 to 5 minutes.
Transfer the sautéed mixture over the turkey in the slow cooker, then incorporate corn, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder, paprika, and additional salt. Stir until everything is thoroughly combined.
Pour the chicken broth into the slow cooker and add the bay leaf.
Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on HIGH for 4 hours or on LOW for 6 hours.
