Thaw the Crab Legs: Should your king crab legs be frozen, you'll first need to defrost them. The most effective method is to place them in the refrigerator for several hours or ideally overnight. If you're short on time, you can also run them under cool water for a few minutes to expedite the process.
Preheat the Oven: Set your oven temperature to 350°F to preheat.
Prepare the Baking Pan: Arrange the crab legs in a single layer within a spacious baking dish. You might need to cut them at the joints to ensure they fit comfortably.
Add Liquid: Pour approximately 1/4 cup of water into the baking dish, just enough to cover the bottom. This will create steam during baking, helping to keep the crab legs moist.
Cover with Foil: Tightly cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to trap the steam inside.
Bake: Insert the baking dish into the oven and allow it to bake for around 15 to 20 minutes. Since the crab is precooked, this step is simply to warm it through.
For steaming, fill a large pot with water, place a steamer insert inside, and bring the water to a boil. Steam the crab legs for about 8 to 10 minutes until heated thoroughly; if they are frozen, extend the steaming time to 10 to 12 minutes until they are hot. Drain and serve.
Alternatively, if you prefer to use the microwave, wrap the legs with damp paper towels and microwave on high for 3 to 4 minutes.
Squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the crab legs and enjoy!
