Slice the avocados in half and remove the pits. Use a spoon to scoop out some of the flesh to create a deeper cavity.
Chop the scooped-out avocado and set it aside for later use. Drizzle lime juice over all avocado halves to keep them from turning brown.
Preheat a medium-sized skillet on high heat and mist it with cooking oil.
Once the skillet is hot, add the ground turkey along with the spices and diced onion. Cook for about 5 minutes, breaking apart the meat with a wooden spoon as it browns.
Stir in the tomato sauce and a splash of water, then continue cooking while stirring until the turkey is fully cooked, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat.
Spoon the turkey mixture into each avocado half, and then sprinkle with cheese, the reserved avocado, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of Greek yogurt or sour cream if you like. Enjoy with a spoon!
