Begin by warming a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once heated, introduce the bacon and cook it until it achieves a crispy, golden-brown texture. Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess grease. Discard most of the bacon fat, leaving just a thin layer in the skillet.
Season the chicken pieces generously on both sides with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and black pepper, then place them in the skillet. Allow them to cook for 4 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked through. Once done, transfer the chicken to a plate and cover it loosely with foil to keep warm.
In the now-empty skillet, add the shallots and sauté for 1 minute, making sure to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom. Next, incorporate the garlic and continue to sauté for an additional 30 seconds. Pour in the broth, wine, and thyme, stirring to combine. Add the green beans, raise the heat to medium-high, and cook for approximately 8 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the green beans are tender-crisp, stirring occasionally.
Arrange the chicken breasts and green beans on a serving platter. Sprinkle the green beans with 1/8 teaspoon of salt and fresh ground pepper. Add the chicken juices to the sauce along with another 1/8 teaspoon of salt, stir, and let it simmer for 30 more seconds. Drizzle the sauce over the chicken and green beans, finishing with the crispy bacon on top.
