Begin by heating your oven to 450°F.
In a baking dish, mix together the broccoli florets, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Place the broccoli in the oven and roast for approximately 20 minutes, giving it a stir halfway through, until it achieves a golden-brown color and is tender.
At the same time, bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
Prepare the pasta by following the cooking instructions on the package until it reaches an al dente texture.
Just before draining, set aside 1 cup of the pasta water.
Drain the pasta and combine it with the roasted broccoli.
Stir in ½ cup of the reserved pasta water (adding more if needed), along with Pecorino Romano cheese, and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
