For stovetop preparation: In a small saucepan, warm the vanilla shake over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a pleasant warmth without boiling, which should take about 1 to 2 minutes. Lower the heat to its lowest setting and incorporate the white chocolate chips. Keep stirring continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth, which should take an additional 30 to 60 seconds.
For microwave preparation, pour the shake into a large microwave-safe mug along with the white chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave for 1 ½ minutes, ensuring to stir thoroughly halfway through, until it is heated all the way through and the chocolate is melted and creamy. If desired, add whipped cream on top and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Transfer the mixture into a large mug and, if you like, add whipped cream on top and finish with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
