Cut the beef into thin strips and season it with salt, garlic powder, and freshly ground pepper according to your preference.
Place a large skillet on high heat. Once the skillet is thoroughly heated, apply a light coating of cooking spray and add half of the beef strips.
Sear the beef for 1 minute, then flip it over and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
Transfer the cooked beef to a large plate and set aside.
Reapply cooking spray to the skillet, allowing it to heat up again before adding the remaining beef. Cook for 1 minute, then flip and cook for another 30 seconds.
Move the remaining beef to the plate with the first batch.
Return the skillet to the heat and spray it again with cooking spray; add the sliced onions and season them with salt and pepper.
Sauté the onions for 1 minute, then flip them and continue cooking for another 30 seconds, or until they turn golden brown.
Reduce the heat to medium and introduce 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil to the skillet. Add the mushrooms, along with salt and pepper, and lightly mist the tops of the mushrooms with oil.
Cook the mushrooms for 1 1/2 minutes, then turn them over and cook for an additional minute and a half.
Combine the cooked mushrooms with the steak and onions in the dish, stirring well to mix everything together.
Serve the mixture over a bed of rice.
