In a small mixing bowl, blend together the ingredients for the ranch popcorn seasoning.
Prepare the popcorn using an air popper or microwave. Refer to the section above for my preferred microwave tool that pops popcorn without oil. If you lack an air popper, you can also prepare it on the stovetop as follows:
Evenly spread the popcorn kernels in the base of a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven. Ensure they form a single layer (adding too many kernels will prevent proper popping) and place it over medium heat, then cover.
Keep a close watch on the pot, as you'll need to pay attention to the popping sounds. Initially, the kernels will pop rapidly. When you notice a pause of one to two seconds between pops, take the pot off the heat, which should take about 6 to 7 minutes.
While the popcorn is still warm, lightly mist it with olive oil and sprinkle on the ranch seasoning, then toss thoroughly to coat.
