Ingredients

  • 1.25 lbs 93% lean ground beef sirloin
  • 1 tbsp steak seasoning
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper
  • 4 oz mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium carrot

Instructions

  1. 1

Finely dice all the vegetables, utilizing either a chopper or a food processor for efficiency.

  2. 2

Place a large skillet on the stove and heat it over medium-high. Once hot, introduce the ground meat to the pan, breaking it apart as it cooks.

  3. 3

Sprinkle in the steak seasoning and continue cooking the meat until it achieves a nice brown color.

  4. 4

Incorporate the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced carrots, sliced mushrooms, and diced red peppers into the skillet.

  5. 5

Lower the heat to medium, then pour in the red wine vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Allow it to cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Mix in the tomato sauce and paste, stirring well to combine. Cover the skillet, then reduce the heat to a simmer and let it cook for another 5 minutes.

  7. 7

Using a measuring cup, heap 1/2 cup of the savory meat mixture onto toasted buns.
