Ingredients

  • 1.3 lb 20 oz 99% lean ground turkey breast
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 15 oz can chickpeas, drained
  • 1 15.5 oz can black beans, drained
  • 1 15.5 oz can small red beans, drained
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro for topping

  • 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 16 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 4.5 oz can chopped chilies

Instructions

    In a medium skillet set over medium-high heat, sauté the turkey and onion until the meat is fully cooked and browned. Once done, transfer the mixture to the slow cooker along with the beans, chilies, chickpeas, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, and cumin. Stir everything together until well combined.

    Set the slow cooker to high and let it cook for 6 to 8 hours, or on low for 10 to 12 hours.

    Before serving, top with diced onions, fresh cilantro, and any other favorite garnishes you enjoy.

    Activate the sauté function, then lightly spray the pot with oil. Add the turkey and onion, breaking the meat into smaller pieces with a spoon as it cooks until fully browned. Incorporate the beans, chilies, chickpeas, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, and cumin, stirring thoroughly.
