
I decided to join the smashed taco craze and created these turkey smash burger tacos with a healthier twist compared to the versions I've spotted on TikTok. The results were absolutely tasty!

Gather and prepare all your ingredients to ensure everything is at hand.
Combine the ground turkey with taco seasoning and form it into 8 equal balls, each weighing 2 ounces.
Place a large griddle, black stone, or cast iron skillet on medium-high heat to warm up.
Once heated, apply a light spray of oil. In batches, add the turkey balls, ensuring there’s adequate space between them for spreading, and cover with parchment paper.
With a press or a large spatula supported by a mallet, firmly press down on each ball to flatten them as much as possible. Cook until the bottoms develop a nice brown crust.
Carefully flip each patty over, adding approximately 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese on top, followed by a tortilla.
Firmly press down on each tortilla using the press. Cook for about 2 minutes, allowing the turkey to brown and the cheese to melt. Flip and continue cooking for another minute until the tortillas achieve a slight char. Move the tortillas to a plate with the meat side facing up.
Garnish with sliced avocado and pico de gallo, and add salsa if you prefer. Fold the tacos and enjoy immediately.
