While tuna tartare might seem sophisticated, it’s surprisingly simple to whip up! Just mix together high-quality sushi-grade tuna, refreshing cucumber, creamy avocado, scallions, and your choice of sauce. Serve it chilled alongside some crunchy chips for a delightful treat.

Cut the tuna into small cubes, aiming for sizes similar to dice for optimal texture.
In a separate small bowl, combine soy sauce or tamari, sesame oil, and sriracha. Feel free to modify the quantity of sriracha according to your preferred spice level.
In a larger mixing bowl, gently combine the diced tuna, scallions, grated ginger (if using), and cucumber. Drizzle the sauce mixture over the ingredients and carefully toss everything together until well coated. At this stage, you can place the mixture in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve.
Just prior to serving, fold in the avocado to prevent it from oxidizing and turning brown.
To present the tartare, spoon it into a bowl and serve right away. For a touch of elegance, consider using a ring mold to shape the tartare on the plates, reminiscent of my shrimp stacks. Finish with a sprinkle of scallions for garnish.
Serve chilled, accompanied by a crunchy element like my baked wonton chips.
