Ingredients

  • 1 pound 93% lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup seasoned whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • olive oil spray
  • 4 burger buns
  • cheese
  • sliced tomato
  • sliced red onion
  • Iceberg lettuce
  • sliced pickles
  • ketchup and mustard
  • caramelized onions
  • avocado
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1/4 cup dried onion flakes

Instructions

  1. 1

In a spacious mixing bowl, blend together the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, dried onion flakes, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and salt.

  2. 2

Shape the mixture into 4 uniform patties, pressing down gently to achieve a thickness of roughly 1/2 inch, ensuring they cook evenly throughout.

  3. 3

Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Once heated, give it a light mist of cooking oil.

  4. 4

Place the patties in the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Sear for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned and fully cooked. Monitor the bottoms closely to avoid burning and ensure the burgers are cooked thoroughly.

  5. 5

As the burgers cook, prepare your buns and toppings. If desired, toast the buns for added flavor.

  6. 6

Once the burgers are finished, transfer them onto the buns, add your favorite toppings, and serve right away.

  7. 7

Ensure the grill is thoroughly cleaned prior to cooking and apply a spray of oil to prevent sticking.

  8. 8

Grill the burgers over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they are no longer pink in the center and have reached an internal temperature of 165°F.

  9. 9

Air Fryer Option: Cook the turkey burgers in an air fryer at 400°F for approximately 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
